2016 Pancake Mile

Pancake Mile, Elmira Maple Syrup Festival

Pancakes with your maple syrup, anyone? How about a mile run?

For the second year in a row, RunWaterloo and the Elmira Maple Syrup Festival joined together to serve up the Pancake Mile.

Despite the fantastically dry and relatively warm March, race day conditions didn’t allow us to run outside, so we were back on the indoor track at the Woolwich Memorial Centre in Elmira again this year. With a sold-out field – including 2015 winners Adam Dixon and Mary Catherine Stewart – we knew we were in for a good show, and our participants did not disappoint!

Great fun was had by all, and a new WORLD BEST time was recorded, too! Jessica Keupfer took 34 seconds off of last year’s winning time. Sergio Raez Villanueva took the men’s event in a time of 6:45. Congratulations to all finishers!

Hundreds of photos have been posted to the RunWaterloo Flickr page. See you next year!
