Looking ahead to 2018

With only a few weeks left before the New Year, I’ve started to take some time to plan what I want to accomplish in 2018. One of my goals is to improve my 5km time. With ambitious business goals as well, I know that this won’t be easy to accomplish without careful planning. Therefore, I’ve already taken the time to map out my training plan, and the races I plan to run. Now the key is to stick to my plan!

What are your goals in 2018?

My Next KW Race – Win a RunWaterloo Membership!

To help you reach your goals in a month without any more races, in this special edition of My Next KW Race we are giving away two Run Waterloo memberships! To enter, for a chance to win one of the memberships answer this question:

“What is one of your 2018 goals?”

The contest is open now until December 19, 2017 at 9pm. Two people will be randomly selected to win free Run Waterloo membership for 2018.

Anyone is eligible – even if you’ve already registered, you will be credited with a free entry to a future Run Waterloo event. Comment on this post, my Facebook page, or Tweet me. Good luck!

My 2018 goal for my power walking is to do as many half marathons that I can and do them in less than three hours.

Thanks Melissa! Great goal! Any idea on how many you think you might be able to complete in a year?

One of my goals for 2018 is to keep running through the winter. I have not done that since moving here from a warmer area years ago.

Great goal! I started running outside throughout the winter a few years ago. Proper clothing is key! Having running buddies helps a lot as well – I joined H+P for that reason!

My goal is to run a marathon this year. I have young kids and minimal time to train, but need to take time for myself each week. A longer race goal will push me to have a couples hours to focus on myself each week.

Awesome goal and not easy to do with young kids – love that you are taking it on. Any specific marathon in mind?
