Over 300 runners gathered at the Preston Legion in Cambridge on November 4th to remember those who have served our country and their sacrifices. After a solemn ceremony that included the national anthem, Amazing Grace and a moment of silence, the 2.5k, 5k and 11k runners left the starting line together to take advantage of one last, gorgeous fall race day before the snow arrived.
Congratulations to everyone who ran, especially to our race winners Connor Hammond (5k – 17:17), Carley Somerset (5k – 20:35), David Harmsworth (11k – 42:25) and Rebecca Kruisselbrink (11k – 48:42), who won in a photo finish! This was the second RunWaterloo event win this fall for both Connor and David, and David set a new master’s record in the 11k with this performance.
Thousands of free, high quality photos are now available from our Flickr site, and hundreds have already been linked to your results. Finish line video is also up and available directly in the results.
Thank you to all the volunteers and donors that made this race possible, and to the Legion and its members for their ongoing support. This race has now raised $55,000 for the Preston Legion Poppy Fund in its nine year history.
This was the final Run Pure event of 2017. The final two Run Waterloo races of the year are Musagetes Five on November 25 and Santa Pur-suit on December 9.
