Recap and photos from the 11th RememberRun

What a morning at the 11th RememberRun. In our 11th year, this race has now raised over $55,000 for the Preston Legion Poppy Fund.

We made some improvements this year, from capping the field to keep the Legion Hall manageable, and of course, adding in the beautiful shirts from Surge Activewear and also the finisher medal dog tags. We are thrilled to help contribute to the culture of remembrance in Waterloo Region.

Huge thanks to all fundraisers, donors, and of course volunteers, including Invictus. Congratulations to all runners and walkers, and especially to our race winners! Lumi Duca set an all-time masters female record.

Thousands of great race photos will be available on Flickr this week! Here is just a teaser:

Ist time I have taken part in the RememberRun. What an amazing run. Course was beautiful, shirts were so awesome and the dog tag finisher medals were really well thought out. Great day in all and very nice to be able to help out the Legion raise funds for their poppy campaign.

This was my first time running this race and first 11k. I ran with the goal of completing rather than time but was pleasantly surprised with the end result.
Thanks to the organizers of this great event! It was a great course and I hope to do it again next year! The shirts and the dog tag medals were fantastic!

This run means so much being able to merge so many things into one event: Remembrance, raising funds for a worthy cause, and a race. This was a great run and day. The new course was just as fun as the previous course, the shirts are awesome, and the dog tags were a really great addition! Thank you to all the organizers and volunteers.

Amazing run and well organized as usual! I wanted to know if your staff would consider providing more vegetarian options for post race i.e., veggie burgers? I know you can not accommodate everyone’s meal preferences but it would be nice to have the option. Thanks!

Hi Shannon, thanks for your feedback. It is on our radar and we hope to have updates in 2020.

Great run! Two little things that would make it even better: a) veggie food options, and b) making sure there’s room for runners in both directions on the narrow bridges (some 5K runners had to stop mid-race until they were let through). But yeah, well organized and a lot of fun regardless. Thanks!
