High-virtual-five from the 2020 Laurier Loop

Thank you to everyone who put up with our first virtual race. These are not the conditions under which we ever expected to launch such an event, but from the bottom of our hearts we thank you for getting out and running this weekend.

It’s with very mixed emotions that we report on this race. We feel like we let down the community by not delivering the experience we accepted entry fees to provide. But we also saw so much unexpected joy from making the best of the situation. Check out the photos and comments in the facebook event as a proxy for what we missed on race day.

Results

Over 250 people submitted times to us, including 27 relay teams, which is almost as many as we had out last March when we were able to run together!

Several records were set, including overall team (H+P Mixed), and overall Female (Rachel Hannah) and Masters Female (Robyn Collins).

Technical note: we are counting these times for record purposes, but not for Boost PB purposes.

Also the race debut of member #0!

Photos

Small groups got together for socially-distant mini race. Huge thanks to Bas Groot and Julie Schmidt for getting out there to snap a few photos!
