Run Pure + Simple is our series of no-bells races: great atmospheres with nothing extra. They are certified distances* and chip timed, which at approximately $15 makes them an incredible value on a race-by-race basis and a great complement to the entire Run Waterloo calendar.
We run 3-4 events per year, and since their launch in 2017, we have built this roster of RP+S races:
- Downtown Kitchener Mile: The flagship RP+S event in Victoria Park. >>2025<<
- Riverside “Roughly” Five: A fun and challenging tour of the hilly trails at Riverside Park
- Musagetes 5: A late-season burner on the Grey Silo Trail
- 5KBT: an out-and-back 5k early in the season on the Kissing Bridge Trail
- Member Relay: exclusive to RW members, teams for this 4×2.5k relay are randomly drawn, and the venue changes each year. >>2025<<
- The Conflux: A 4k race at the confluence of the Grand River and Speed River in Cambridge. >>2025<<
- Malice at McLennan: A 5k on the trails at McLennan Park. What could hurt? >>2025<<
One last thing you should know about Run Pure + Simple: these events are FREE to Run Waterloo Members. This is just one of many reasons to check out the membership program.
*Riverside “Roughly” Five is not certified because it is a parody of races which are not certified. The challenging trails make it impossible to PB anyway. It’s “roughly” five k.
