Announcing the 2019 Baden Sprint Duathlon course maps

Today we are excited to announce our courses for the Baden Sprint Duathlon in 2019.

After organizing our first multisport event in 2018, and working with Triathlon Ontario, Waterloo Regional Police, Region of Waterloo, and Township of Wilmot, we are back in 2019 with new and improved courses.

The top three course improvements we are most excited about:

  1. At 5k – 18.6k – 2.5k, this course is shorter than 2018, which is perfect for an early-season race.
  2. We’ve moved the transition and start lines right next to the arena facilities and spectators.
  3. Confirmed police at all important intersections.

This years duathlon will be dedicated to the memory of the best age group duathletes that Ontario and Canada may have ever seen. Local athlete Ron VanKoughnett passed away recently after a long battle with cancer. Ron won many age group races over the years, national championships on both sides of the border and even was World Champion in his age group in his illustrious career.

Join us on May 18 for a fun race, with great t-shirts, finisher medals, and post-race pizza! 50 spots are left.

There are also two running events: 7 mile hill run and 5k trail run.
