The Run Waterloo Membership program is back and bigger than ever, starting with our first Member Appreciation Month this April. What does that mean?
1. Member bibs are back!
We last printed custom member bibs in 2019, but lost our access to tyvek early in 2020 due to the PPE materials supply chain. (Tyvek is a much softer material than the bibs we have been using for the past four years). It’s back now and we’re excited for our first print to be these custom bibs. The only way for runners to have their name on their bib is through this program, and all members as of April 1 will have the option for these free bibs that can be worn at any Run Waterloo race.
2. Run Pure+Simple is back!.
Since 2019, we’re finally bringing back a full calendar of our no-frills races this year, with:
– 5KBT on April 7
– Downtown Kitchener Mile on July 3
– Riverside “Roughly” Five on October 19
These events are free to members, open to the public, and a great racing atmosphere without breaking the bank. But what’s this about April?
3. RW Member Relay: A member-only event
We’re trying something new this year: RW Member Relay on April 27.
– Exclusive to members
– Free to members
– Randomly assigned teams of 4
– 4×2.5k relay at Kiwanis Park (the intention is to move this event around to different parks in future iterations)
– A good way to meet new people and switch up your racing experience
4. RW Boost swag
And no outlining of Member benefits is complete without RW Boost. It’s our proprietary annual competition that mixes up participation, speed, and fun “Boosters”. You can read all about it here and check out the current standings (after one race) here.
We’ve got some great rewards coming in 2024, including an exclusive RW Member T-shirt (600 points) and an exclusive RW Hoodie (900 points). Pictured below are the 2019 t-shirt and hoodie. 2024 designs will be consistent but unique to 2024.
