Elite Kenyan-Canadian distance runner Wesley Korir has confirmed he will race the Harvest Half Marathon in 2019.
Wesley’s running accomplishments include wins at the 2012 Boston Marathon and 2009 and 2010 Los Angeles Marathon. His half marathon personal best is 1:01:19 from 2012.
This Harvest Half is a fundraiser for the Kenyan Kids Foundation Canada, a charity Wesley co-founded with his wife and elite runner Tarah Korir, native of Wellesley, Ontairo. The race takes place in St. Jacobs, Ontario on September 14, 2019.
This is Wesley’s first half marathon since 2014. He is “very excited” to attend Harvest Half for the first time.

In mid-September, the race is positioned as a tune-up for fall marathons. In it’s sixth year, 2019 will be the first for a new flatter course in Woolwich Township that Wesley describes as “perfect for tempo runs.”
The course is about 1/3 gravel. Also new in 2019 is a 5k distance. With the Korir family and the KKFC, we invite all runners to this family-friendly event, where two of Wesley and Tarah’s children will be making their 5k debut.
