We are thrilled to announce our guest speaker at the pre-race dinner for the 2016 Harvest Half (or Quarter) Marathon. From the Kenyan Kids Foundation Canada:
“We are excited to announce that Lanni Marchant, the female Canadian record holder for the marathon, will be the guest speaker at our Harvest Half pre-race pasta dinner in St. Jacobs on Friday September 23rd.
“Lanni has just returned from Rio where she completed a history making Olympic double – competing in the women’s marathon just 46 hours after finishing the 10,000 m track event. Lanni is a frequent visitor to Kenya where she visits and trains with KKFC co-founders Wesley and Tarah Korir.”
This is an awesome opportunity for local runners. Tickets are limited; don’t miss out!
Three ways to support the Kenyan Kids Foundation Canada this fall:
Pre-Race Dinner
Friday, September 23
Lanni Marchant speaking, great food, and a silent auction. Need we say more?
Harvest Half Marathon
Saturday, September 24
This event is designed to be a perfectly-timed tuneup for STWM, and to share the very gravel roads in Wellesley Township where Wesley and Tarah Korir train when they are in Canada.
Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon
Sunday, October 16
Tarah Korir is leading a Kenyan Kids team at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon (Marathon, Half Marathon, 5 km). Consider using your running talents to support KKFC programs in Kenya.
