Our top four reasons to attend the screening of Transcend at the Princess Twin Theatre on June 4th:
1. You’ve seen it before, but it really is so amazing and you want to see it again
2. You couldn’t get tickets to the sold-out screening in Waterloo in March
3. This fundraiser is organized by the Kenyan Kids Foundation Canada to support their incredible work
4. Wesley and Tarah will both be at the theatre. Wow!
Tickets are only $10. See you there!
More from Blair McKay, chair of Kenyan Kids Foundation Canada:
I would like to invite you to attend a local screening of ‘Transcend’ on Thursday June 4th at 7:00 pm at the Princess Twin Theatre in Waterloo. This full-length documentary follows Wesley Korir (co-founder of Kenyan Kids Foundation Canada) from the poverty of his early life in Kenya to the peak of his success winning the Boston Marathon in 2012 and back to Kenya where he becomes a Member of Parliament for the Cherangany constituency.
Wesley and his Canadian wife Tarah will be hosting a short question and answer session following the screening to discuss the documentary, their running careers, and the work Kenyan Kids Foundation Canada is doing to help relieve poverty in Kenya.
To purchase tickets please visit: www.kenyankidsfoundation.ca/transcend
Proceeds from this event will support Kenyan Kids Foundation Canada which is now a Registered Canadian Charity. We are in a unique position to make a real difference in the lives of impoverished people living in Kenya. Wesley’s insight through his first-hand experience with poverty has shaped our approach to providing aid. We support projects that lead to “empowered families, thriving communities”. We invite you to support our Mission: “Investing in Kenyan cooperative development for education, health and economic vitality.”
