Run, check. Breakfast, check. Pancake Mile, check!
Mother Nature gives us the gift of maple syrup season each spring, and that puts the Pancake Mile in the first week of April. In the fourth year of the event, the second outdoor running was the first with snow on the ground!
Fun times were had as runners took the challenge of 4 quarter-mile laps, with one pancake per lap. It’s not only about how fast you run, you’ve got to be able to scarf down the pancake and run on an increasingly full stomach, too.
Spectators were given a special treat today – the top three men finished within 8 seconds, and a new event record!
Winners today were Adam Dixon (6:42) and Valery Hobson (8:58). Adam’s time is third all-time at Pancake Mile history, a mere second behind his 2015 time. Valery broke the masters female record that had stood since 2015!
Over 800 free photos are posted to Flickr page for you to enjoy!
We hope all runners and spectators enjoyed the rest of the Elmira Maple Syrup Festival on Saturday afternoon!
