As we have known for a while, Google is finally moving on from Picasa. Picasa has been a great home for RunWaterloo’s photos for ten years now, but we’re excited to be moving on as well. We evaluated several options including Facebook and Google Photos, but the clear winner is … Flickr.
Once you get adjusted to Flickr, we know you’re going to love it. It’s modern, easy to use, has a stellar mobile app, and is easier to upload to (which means you will see your race photos sooner!).
Here are some specific things to get excited about!
* Albums embedded directly into RunWaterloo blogs
* A smoother mobile experience: browse RunWaterloo photos and albums on your tablet
* A more social photo experience
* More sophisticated organization of photos through tags and albums
While this is a big improvement for our photo experience, we are still preserving the core benefits we offer through photos: free, high quality (both in terms of photography and file size), and easy to download for your own use.
Over time, we expect to move all historical photos from Picasa to Flickr. But for now, the best way to find photos up to and including 2015 is to visit our Picasa page.
Get started and browse our latest album – Re-Fridgee-Eighter 2016.
